Brazil will import 17.8GW of photovoltaic modules in 2022
According to a survey report on distributed photovoltaic systems released by the Brazilian consulting agency Greener, Brazil will import 17.8GW of photovoltaic modules in 2022, with a purchase amount of more than 64 billion Brazilian reals (12.3 billion U.S. dollars).
JinkoSolar was the largest supplier of PV modules imported in the Brazilian market last year, with a supply of 3,065MW. The main PV module suppliers are Canadian Solar (2340MW), Longji (1830MW), Trina Solar (1802MW), Risen Energy (1480MW) and JA Solar (1101MW).
Greener surveyed and counted 71 PV module manufacturers supplying to the Brazilian PV market in 2022, but the 10 manufacturers with the highest delivery volume accounted for 81% of the market share.
Brazil will install nearly 10GW of photovoltaic systems in 2022. The cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the country exceeds 25GW, and its power generation share accounts for 11.6% of the total power generation. The cumulative installed capacity of utility-scale photovoltaic systems in Brazil is 7.8GW.
According to data released by ABSolar, since July 2022, the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems installed in Brazil has increased by an average of 1GW per month. As of July 2022, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the country was 16.4GW, but by the end of 2022 it had already reached 25GW.
