Trina Solar Middle East supplies 800MW! Abu Dhabi Al Dhafra 2.1GW photovoltaic power station connected to the grid for power generation
In April 2023, Abu Dhabi's 2.1GW AI Dhafra photovoltaic power plant project, one of the world's largest single photovoltaic power plants, will be fully connected to the grid for power generation. Trina Solar provided 800MW 210 supreme high-efficiency modules for this project, helping the energy transition and sustainable development in the Middle East region.
The Al Dhafra photovoltaic power station project is located in the Al Dhafra area about 35 kilometers south of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a total installed capacity of 2.1GW and an area of over 20 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of 2,800 football fields , is currently one of the largest single photovoltaic power plant projects in the world. This is an important practice of the "Belt and Road" initiative in the Middle East, and it is also the crystallization of the strong friendship between China and Arab states. The project will be connected to the grid for the first time in November 2022, and will be connected to the grid at full capacity in early April 2023. According to calculations and assessments, after the project is completed and put into operation, the power generation capacity will be able to meet the electricity demand of about 160,000 UAE households and reduce carbon emissions by more than 2.4 million tons per year.
